Abigale Lee Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born on the 21st of September 1965) was an American dance instructor,
choreographer and reality TV host. She was the creator of the Abby Lee Dance
Company, which was featured on the reality TV show Dance Moms for eight
seasons. On June 27, 2016, Miller pleaded guilty to felony bankruptcy fraud.
Miller was sentenced on June 27, 2016 to one year, and one day in federal
prison. She was released March 27 28th, 2018. In April 2018, she developed
lymphoma, the type of cancer that caused her to be unable to walk. The
wheelchair she uses now is used to move around. Miller was raised in Penn
Hills, Pennsylvania. Her mother taught her dance at Maryen Lorrain Dance
Studio. Miller at the age of 14 was given the choreography and instruction of
one of her mother’s dance competition teams. Miller eventually assumed control
of the studio, renaming it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by
Dance Masters of America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania
Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February
2012, citing that Miller's reality television show Dance Moms was a
"complete misconception of the teachers we have and students" and was
detrimental to the profession.
